Hi, I'm Alf, the skipper of 'Freedom Fargo'.   der skipper bin ich ;-)

A brief history on how I am:
After learning to sail on the North Sea, I purchased my first boat in 1995.
'Faehnrich', a strong, sturdy but beautiful 31footer.
With her I explored the Baltic sea and we left in 1999 to sail to the Carribean and back for one year.

Once I arrived in the Carribean I was hooked! I knew that this was the lifestyle for me, and loved it so much that I decided to look for a bigger boat to continue my journeys with. I found 'Freedom Fargo' in Trinidad, and we were lovers at first sight! I owned her less than a month later and sailed her mostly singlehandedly through the Carribean and the Pacific Ocean.

It was here that I found what I was looking for:

Dream islands inhabited by friendly indigenous people, the chance to learn about their lifestyles. Amazing coral reefs and sea life. A relaxed, natural way of living.

As an artist and musician I have always been fascinated by other lifestyles and societies which are alternative to our own european/american culture. In the South Pacific I found societies, who don't want or need to catch up with this kind of western influence. Sometimes I feel like I'm using a timemachine!

So because of these reasons, I have decided to stay longer than usual for a standard circumnavigation.

I want to meet and explore as many different cultures of the South Pacific as possible. Because 'Freedom Fargo' is comfortable and big enough for you aswell, you are welcome to join me in doing this...

I look forward to hearing from you and talking further..
